Happy Mother's Day!

What a fabulous Mother's Day I have had!  A lovely time has been spent with the family today.  Whilst I am here I thought I would share the cards I made with some of the current stamp sets for the 3 mother's lucky enough to receive them from our household on this day - yes, that was 3 cards to make!

The first will look very familiar to you all who have seen the mini catalogue already as I have used the catalogue for inspiration.  That is the great thing about the Idea and Catalogue it really is full of inspiration and I love flicking through to see what catches my eye.  When I am not sure where to start from I just look there and play around with one of the ideas using it as a template.

This time I loved the card so much I made almost an exact replica (what a cheat!). The stamp set is the Easter Blossoms from the mini catalogue for Easter, but I loved the blossom background and the little girl silhouette for this card so I changed the sentiment to make this a Mother's Day card.  The 'For My Wonderful Mother' stamp is part of the Delightful Dozen set - this stamp set is full of useful greetings for the year and I am working my way through them!

I changed the designer paper to Beau Chateau and used the Seam Binding Ribbon ruffled up too as a change to the original design.  To create the ruffle you just need to cut the Seam Binding Ribbon then catch a single thread from the end and pull it to gather the ribbon up.

Colours for the card are Rose Red, Crumb cake, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla.  The flower is from the Boho Blossoms punch with Certainly Celery and some River Rock scraps, finished off with some pearls for that extra special feel.

The second card I made was with the Sale-a-Bration Fresh Vintage stamp set and using Baja Breeze and the 2012-2013 In Colours.  This is a card layered with the Sale-A-Bration designer papers Everyday Enchantment and the Fresh Vintage stamped images.  I used the marker pens to colour the stamps to match the paper design.  I have stuck the images with dimensionals to give the card layering.

The decorative label is an off cut from another recent project, my wedding invitations - it is a decorative label made from Very Vanilla, embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the Big Shot and then inked on the edges with Crumb Cake ink  using a sponge dauber.  Watch this space to see pictures of the wedding stationery at a later date!

The third card again came from inspiration from the catalogue.  This is using the You Are Loved stamp set.  The background is Baja Breeze and and I have then used marker pens again to ink the flower and stuck it with a Dimensional pad to lift it from the card.

Again, I have used the 'For My Wonderful Mother' from the Delightful Dozen set on the tag.  The Satin Ribbon is Certainly Celery and fixed with glue dots in the gathered effect.  Of course, a few pearls here just accent the flower and ribbon to finish the card off - a simply lovely design!

I hope you love the cards, and for all you mother's I hope you have been made to feel truly special today too!

Remember the Sale-a-Bration is only until the end of this month, March and the Mini Catalogue sets featured here are also only available until the end of April. Email me at craftyinkbuds@sky.com to place an order or see what dates I have available for a hostess party with you.
