Yesterday I tried the stepped card for the first time for my You Are Loved card and then as it is Valentine's Day today I used the card layout again.
This time out came the Small Heart Punch and the little heart from the Owl Builder Punch to make this lovely confetti heart card.
The treat cups I bought for a Christmas project to fill with treats, but they don't need to be filled with goodies to be the centre of attention.

Love is all Around
I thought it was about time I tried another card format, so here it is, my first attempt at a stepped card. It wasn't as difficult as I thoughtonce I had the measurements and of course my trusted paper cutter to cut and score in the correct places. Thanks to my Stampin' Up' upline Amanda Fowler from Inspiring Inkin' for the inspiration.
To decorate the card I used the You are Loved stamp set and the co-ordinating wheel stamp. Perfect for Valentine's, but just as easily to send love to loved ones at other times of the year. I definitely am planning on a Mother's Day card with this set!

Au Beau Chateau - beautiful!
There's nothing worse than checking the calendar and realising you had overlooked a birthday for someone and there's no guarantee even with a 1st class stamp it isn't going to get to them in time. That's what I love about making my own cards, just sitting down and putting together a lovely card and then sending it.
It might arrive a little late, but if it's this lovely and handmade surely it can be forgiven!
I just love the Fun Flowers die for the Big Shot. Some designer papers and a run through the big shot and you have an instant beautiful flower to top a card or project. I have used the Vintage wallpaper emboss folder with the Big Shot to make the vintage style background and finished off the card with the new Victoria Crochet Trim. I think you will agree this card is simply gorgeous!

You are Loved
Today I have been playing with my new stamp set from the Mini Catalogue. It's called 'You are Loved' and of course, it is very apt for the near to coming Valentine's Day to send sweet messages, but I think it is great for other occasions too. It could just as easily be for a Mother's Day project (18th March) or birthdays or friendships all year through. I love absolutely love it!
I made a card perfect to fit in the new square envelopes (thank you SU for providing square envelopes this catalogue!) with dimensional pads to raise the Valentine sentiment overlaying the lovely background heart stamp.
I stamped with the lush deep red ink of Cherry Cobbler and added lovely Whispher White organza ribbon and pearls to complete the look. The background card was Always Artichoke and I created the stitching with the piercing tool and using the piercing template mat set. I then used stitched by hand - it didn't take as long as it sounds, but you can always cheat and use a white gel pen to make the stitch effect!
It's a bit of a shame as the sentiment placement covers some of the lovely features of the heart stamp as it has a bird and butterflies too, but don't worry I will be sure to be stamping some more and posting pictures with this stamp set.
Watch this space as I have another exciting project with this stamp to show you..............

Quick Birthday Pennants
Just a quick note to add to today's postings to show you a couple of cards I made quickly to celebrate birthdays for relatives this last week.
These are made using the Pennants Builder Punch as an another alternative to making a banner with them. I have just used the middle triangles stuck together to make the diamond shapes and an additional row along the top. A really simple design which takes minutes.
The 'happy' lettering is the 'Just perfect' alphabet stamp set and the 'Birthday' badge is from the 'Happiest Birhday wishes' set. Background cardstock and ink used is a favourite of mine, Early expresso.
